    Another fail to stay on track. 13th was rather a busy day and although I brought the camera with me, there was nothing particularly interesting that caught my eye.
    So, I am posting a 14/10 photo taken early morning near my home. Again, this is nothing really special but admiration of SMCT 50/1.4 performance wide open.

    2nd post in POTD series, and I feel I am somewhat failing to keep with the initial “1 shot – 1 hit” idea. However, it’s still within the acceptable limit.

    Very binary way to resume posting in this continuously declining blog and a very ambitious project indeed.

    I believe my shooting is completely inadequate at this point. Not least due to my laziness and lack of motivation (a blatant excuse). Therefore, I decided to start taking more photos in between my upcoming projects. It will also serve as a good test for the manual lenses I have acquired recently.

    It’s typical isn’t it? You sit in front of your PC and press F5 with Canon site open in order to get the news on the new 5D and nothing happens. But as soon as you decide to go to Gifu for a day, Canon will make a breakthrough announce!

    There has been a huge amount of speculations on the matter, including spoof Canon China web site announcement, but finally today Canon announced EOS 50D. By now dpreview and others already posted camera specs, I suppose I will simply go ahead and CTRL+C CTRL+V all data from Canon website:

    * 15.1 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor
    * 6.3fps continuous shooting, max. burst 90 JPEGs with UDMA card
    * DIGIC 4 processor
    * ISO 100-3200, expandable to 12800
    * 9-point wide area AF
    * 3.0” Clear View VGA LCD with Live View mode & Face Detection Live AF
    * Magnesium alloy body, with environmental protection
    * EOS Integrated Cleaning System
    * HDMI connection for high quality viewing and playback on a High Definition TV
    * Full compatibility with Canon EF and EF-S lenses and EX-series Speedlites

    Canon EOS 50D will be available for purchase as a body only, and as a kit bundled with EF–S 18–200mm F3.5–5.6 IS or EF–S 17–85 IS U lenses.

    Obviously, a lot of people are excited since this means (analysing previous Canon trends) that a successor to slightly outdated Full Frame EOS 5D will be announced at Photokina in approximately 1 month time. While 50D might be improvement of current semi-professional 40D, most awaited is indeed 5D MkII/3D/7D.

    Many photographers are itching to get their hands on this shiny new toy and equally many are likely to start speculating on the next arrival in EOS range.
